Family Favorite Pizza Bomb Recipe
Make bite sized pillows of delicious pizza goodness with my family’s favorite Pizza Bomb Recipe.
Pizza bombs have become a new thing with my family. Last year my daughter made them for a marching band potluck and they disappeared. Since then we make them for just about any get together or informal family occasion. I mean, it goes without saying that this family of mine loves pizza. So these delectable pizza pillows fit right into our snack wheelhouse. If your family like pizza, this pizza bomb recipe will not disappoint.
These guys are a snap to make too and you can personalize them any way you want. Get creative. Fill them with pepperoni, olives, peppers, Italian sausage, sauce, no sauce, literally anything. Just don’t forget the cheese.
What about the dough you ask? We got you covered there as well. For a quick fix, use store bought biscuit or pizza dough. For a more authentic pizza flavor, use fresh made dough. Check out my best ever pizza dough recipe here.
The Bomb(s)
With any good pizza recipe, you start with the dough.
Now if you are using store bought, my recipe or your own, cut the dough into golf ball sized pieces. Cut only a few dough balls off at a time so your don’t have 30 little pizzas proofing away on your counter.
After the little dough balls are cut, flatten out to prepare for the fillings. Once flat, fill the rounds with your favorite toppings, fold the dough over the toppings and pinch closed.
Place the unbaked packages on a greased sheet tray pinched side down. For added flavor I sprinkled corn meal on my pans. Reminds me of pizza from my childhood. Brush the bombs with some cheesy garlic herb oil and place into a preheated 400° oven for roughly 14-16 minutes or until the pillows are nice and golden brown.
Serve with your favorite pizza or warm alfredo sauce and enjoy your new family favorite snack.
